Croatan’s JV Baseball team won its 16th consecutive game Tuesday as Cougar pitcher Daniel Lewis hurled the season’s first no-hitter against Swansboro.  Lewis struck out 12 and walked 3 in pitching this complete game.  Lewis upped his record to 7 wins and no losses.  Croatan had plenty of offense, scoring 1 run in the first inning, 3 runs in the 2nd, 6 runs in the 3rd, 5 more runs in the 4th, and 1 run in the 5th inning while gaining the 16 to 0 victory.

Lewis helped his own cause by pounding out 3 hits (2 doubles and a single.)  Aaron Stull added two hits (a single and a double.)  CC Wright and  Mike Metcalf also contributed 2 hits each.  The 3rd inning rally was sparked by Matt Stewart’s base clearing triple.  All together the Cougars had 11 hits but also worked the 3 Swansboro pitchers for 10 walks.

Croatan is in action again next Tuesday at home against conference rival East Duplin.  Next Friday the Cougars travel to Clinton.
