Mr. Patrick's recognition by the High School Athletic Association is WELL DESERVED. The world is full of productive and contributing men and women who learned discipline and respect from the coach/principal we all love so dearly.
Even those of us who have little or no involvement in athletics have learned a lot from Mr. Patrick!

NCADA chose well! Mr Holloway is a leader whom we all love and respect here at East Carteret. It is uplifting that others recognize his unique qualities. He is a blessing to our teachers, our staff, and to our students.

Thanks, Joe, for keeping the excitement of Girls Basketball in Carteret County on the Web. The coming conference games will be exciting for all three county teams. I'm sure the girls from West will give all they've got and more in their tough 3A/4A conference.

This is the first I've checked out this website, thank you for whoever is keeping it up. It was interesting to see the latest on middle school standings and the comment of "But their last two games have each been decided by one score." Our coaches were just discussing this with friends of ours - some fellow coaches in our conference, and it seems like running up the scoreboard has become an issue this year. Scoring some 38-44 points is fine when it's in a win and the other team has 30-38, but we need to realize we are middle school and there is no need to see how many you can put up in a win that is already well in hand. We play to win and yes the conference championship is a goal, but so too should be sportsmanship and winning with pride and humility, which is why we are so proud of our young men here at Morehead Middle.

I am very proud of what you people are doing. You have come to the awareness far ahead of many of whom who call themselves adults. It took our Creator possibly a hundred years to create what man can now destroy with a chainsaw and a bulldozer in a matter of hours.

Eight years ago I would have had the privilege of saying to you at the time of the morning announcements to the pupils at Broad Creek Middle School, "Have a good "Bulldog day". It was my pleasure to serve as principal of Broad Creek at that time. I say to you now, "Have a good "Bulldog day" and I would had I am very proud of you.
